Millet Muffins

Millet Muffins


2 cups flour3 teaspoons baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1/4 cup sugar1 egg, slightly beaten1 cup milk3 tablespoons melted butter1 cup blueberries1/4 cup millet seeds

Reserve 1/4 cup flour and sprinkle over well drained blueberries, (fresh berries or thawed and well drained frozen) Combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, seeds and crushed eggshells in a large bowl. Add egg, milk and melted butter. Mix until smooth. Gently fold in blueberries. Bake in greased muffin tins at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from pans. When cool, freeze in Ziplocs, thaw as needed.

Birdie Honey Sticks

2 cups crushed cheerios2 cup crushed pellets2 cups mixed bird seeds1-1/4 cups honey Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add honey, stirring until mixture is wet, but not dripping. You may adjust quantity of honey to obtain correct consistency. Spread into balls and put Popsicle stick into ball for hanging. Bake at 200 degrees about 45 minutes. Halfway through baking, score with a sharp knife. When done, attach to bird cage with a twist tie . Store extras in tight container
